CITY OF COLTON <br />COMMUNITY CHILD CARE TEACHER'S HELPER <br />DESCRIPTION: <br />Under supervision, assist in the daily operation of an extended day child care program for <br />school-age children at selected elementary schools in the Colton Joint Unified School District. <br />EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Assist with the recreational activities of school-age children participating in the City's child care <br />program. <br />Lead recreational activities such as, arts and crafts, sports, games and special events. <br />Assist children participating in the City's child care program with homework assignments, as <br />required. <br />Act as a tutor to children having difficulty learning in school curriculum. <br />Greet parents/guardians upon their arrival at the child care facility. <br />Assist in the maintenance of a clean and orderly environment. <br />Perform assigned tasks in an efficient and safe manner. <br />Interact with parents/guardians on a daily basis. <br />Be actively involved in the activities of program participants. <br />Be a role model for and provide leadership to program participants. <br />Be culturally sensitive to the needs and interests of families. <br />Attend parent/staff in-service meetings as required. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of <br />work. <br />Perform other related duties as required. <br />
