CITY OF COLTON <br />EXECUTIVE SECRETARY <br />PAGE 2 <br />Research, compile and analyze data for special projects and various reports. <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br />EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: <br />Knowledge: <br />• English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation. <br />• Modern office methods, procedures and equipment. <br />• Letter and report writing. <br />• Organization, procedures and operating details of the City. <br />Ability: <br />Understand the organization and operation of the City and of outside agencies as <br />necessary to assume assigned responsibilities. <br />• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br />• Interpret and apply administrative policies, laws and rules. <br />• Type at a speed necessary for adequate job performance. <br />• Take dictation at a speed necessary for adequate job performance. <br />• Work independently in the absence of supervision. <br />to*4N Analyze situations carefully and adopt effective courses of action. <br />• Compile and maintain complex and extensive records; prepare reports. <br />• Understand and carry out oral and written directions. <br />Work cooperatively with other departments, City officials and outside agencies. <br />Experience and Training: <br />Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and <br />abilities is qualifying.
