1 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For the Council Meeting of April 15, 1997 <br />To: Honorable Mayor & City Council <br />Approval: Malik D. Freeman, City Manager <br />From: Randy Anstine, Neighborhood Services <br />Subject: Approve Resolution Authorizing Grant Application <br />through the San Bernardino County Department of <br />Aging and Adult Services <br />Date: March 7, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The State of California through the San Bernardino County Department of Aging and <br />Adult Services, have made available monies for the purpose of providing support service <br />to the frail elderly in the County of San Bernardino. This is a renewal program. The City <br />of Colton has utilized funds from this source for the Senior Chore Program. Through this <br />program, staff is able to assist elderly individuals who have the greatest economic need, <br />with limited housework and yard work. This program is able to assist elderly residents <br />whom otherwise would not qualify for other grant funded programs via the County of San <br />Bernardino. The amount of funding requested is $3,600. Funding would be divided <br />between the service areas of the Hutton and Luque Center. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />If approved, this grant would reimburse the City up to $3,600 for contracted services. <br />The local match for the City of Colton is in-kind services, in the amount of $1,200. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve adoption of the attached Resolution, authorizing staff to make application for <br />funds under the County of San Bernardino Department of Aging and Adult Services for <br />the purpose of providing support service and services to the frail elderly of Colton. <br />Item # 13 <br />
