R-34-97 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FROM THE <br />COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO DEPARTMENT OF AGING AND <br />ADULT SERVICES FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SUPPORT <br />SERVICE AND SERVICE TO THE FRAIL TO CLIENTS IN THE EAST <br />VALLEY SERVICE AREA BY THE CITY OF COLTON. <br />WHEREAS, the Older Americans Act of 1965 makes <br />possible the delivery of comprehensive and coordinated service systems <br />to persons age 60 or older in order to enable them to maintain personal <br />dignity and independence within the community and, <br />WHEREAS, the San Bernardino County Department of <br />Aging and Adult Service solicits proposals for the grant year from <br />qualified public or private agencies to operate support services and <br />services to the frail for persons 60 years of age and older; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of <br />Colton hereby: <br />1. Approves the filing of an application for funding under the Older <br />American Act; and <br />IK <br />2. Authorizes the City Manager to execute said application and <br />subsequent agreements with the San Bernardino Department of <br />Aging and Adult Services for the 1996-97 grant cycle. <br />
