CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />FOR THE COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 4, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: MALIK DANTALA FREEMAN, CITY MANAGEK <br />FROM: GRACIE FERNANDEZ HARMON, PERSONNEL DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF THE REVISION TO THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF WATER <br />OPERATOR II <br />DATE: JANUARY 27, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: Attached is the revised job description for the classification of Water Operator H as <br />recommended by the department head; salary range is $2,298 - $2,793 per month. There is currently one <br />authorized position for this classification, which is presently vacant. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Organizational changes in the Water and Wastewater Department necessitated the <br />revision of the job description. <br />Changes to the job description are as follows: <br />1. Deleted the sentence to collect and test water samples throughout the water system and all required State <br />samples for the City's well under Definition. <br />2. Deleted monitors all required water samples and follows -up with rechecks or schedules testing as soon as <br />possible to meet State time frames and deadlines under Examples of Duties. <br />3. Added assists in collection of water samples to Examples of Duties. <br />4. Training requirement of Grade I Water Distribution Certificate or Grade I Water Treatment Certificate is <br />desirable replaced by Grade H Water Distribution Certificate or Grade H Water Treatment Certificate is <br />required. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: This is an enterprise fund position and is funded for the 1996-97 fiscal year as follows: <br />Account No. 521-8100-8101-1010 (salary) and Account No. 521-8100-8101-1100 (salary related benefits). <br />Thomas K.
