RN -23-1997 11:17 P.06 <br />Banning 4 Mtn <br />Colton 12 MW <br />Deliveries to Cities will commence summer season (June through <br />September) 1999 and continuing through summer season 2003. <br />4.2.1.9 Spot Market Purchases <br />Cities have increasingly relied on the short term spot electricity <br />market to meet Cities' load requirements in the past few years. To <br />the extent market conditions remain favorable, Cities intend to <br />continue this short term purchasing strategy in the near future. <br />4-2.2 Load and Resource Balancing <br />Tables 1 through 3 detail Cities' load and resource balancing through year 2002. <br />As can be seen, Cities will be in resource surplus condition through 1999, and then <br />Cities will achieve resource and load balance condition. <br />4.3 Power Marketing Efforts by Cities <br />Cities have been very active in the past few years to market electric power in excess of Cities, <br />load requirements. Cities intend to continue these marketing efforts to the extent short term <br />market conditions are favorable. <br />4.4 Demand -Side Activities <br />Cities have implemented a variety of demand-side activities in the past few years in order to foster <br />and promote the cost-effective use of electric energy.
