r CITY OF COLTON AGENDA REPORT For City Council Meeting of March 18, 1997 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL APPROVAL: Malik Dantala Freeman, City Managerk 1pll FROM: Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Personnel Director SUBJECT: Ratification of employee re -instatement to the full-time position of Information Systems Coordinator DATE: March 11, 1997 BACKGROUND: The City's Personnel Rules and Regulations, specifically Resolution No. 2240, Rule XIII, Section 5, REINSTATEMENT, provide that with the approval of the appointing power, an employee who has resigned with a good record may be reinstated within two years to his former position, if vacant. DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: The position of Information Systems Coordinator in the Finance Department was recently vacated, and in fact has only been vacant for three (3) weeks. The individual who vacated the position is available to return. This is a very technical and critical position as it provides services to all departments in the City. Therefore, it is the Finance Director's recommendation that we fill the current vacancy by reinstatement, as provided in the Personnel Rules and Regulations. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. FUNDING AVAILABILITY: This is an approved general fund position in the fiscal year 1996-97 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6040-6044-1010 (salary - miscellaneous)', and Account No. 100-6040-6044-1040 (salary - related benefits).
