r <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For City Council Meeting of March 18, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: Malik Dantala Freeman, City Managerk 1pll <br />FROM: Gracie Fernandez Harmon, Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: Ratification of employee re -instatement to the full-time position of <br />Information Systems Coordinator <br />DATE: March 11, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: The City's Personnel Rules and Regulations, specifically Resolution No. <br />2240, Rule XIII, Section 5, REINSTATEMENT, provide that with the approval of the <br />appointing power, an employee who has resigned with a good record may be reinstated within <br />two years to his former position, if vacant. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: The position of Information Systems Coordinator in the Finance <br />Department was recently vacated, and in fact has only been vacant for three (3) weeks. The <br />individual who vacated the position is available to return. This is a very technical and critical <br />position as it provides services to all departments in the City. Therefore, it is the Finance <br />Director's recommendation that we fill the current vacancy by reinstatement, as provided in the <br />Personnel Rules and Regulations. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br />FUNDING AVAILABILITY: This is an approved general fund position in the fiscal year <br />1996-97 budget funded as follows: Account No. 100-6040-6044-1010 (salary - miscellaneous)', <br />and Account No. 100-6040-6044-1040 (salary - related benefits). <br />Anna Vega, Finance <br />MISSION CRITICAL: This position is required to maintain effective operations in the Finance <br />Department. <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: March 18, 1997 <br />RECOMMENDATION: That City Council ratify filling the Information Systems <br />Coordinator position by reinstatement as recommended by the Finance Director. <br />ghdata/agenda/info sys coord.doc <br />Item No. 10 <br />
