1 ORDINANCE NO. 0.04-97 <br />2 AN ORDINANCE ENACTED. BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />3 THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING SECTIONS 2.30.020, <br />2.30.030 AND 2.30.070 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL <br />4 CODE RELATING TO APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF <br />CITY COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES <br />6 TETE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />7 <br />SECTION 1: Section 2.30.020 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />9 read as follows: <br />10 <br />"With the exception of the Planning Commission, all commissions and <br />11 committees of the city shall be comprised of seven members appointed by the <br />12 mayor with the approval of the city council in accord with the provisions of <br />13 California Government Code Section 40605. The planning commission shall <br />14 <br />15 be comprised of seven members appointed on the recommendation of each <br />36 councilmember and the mayor, and ratified by a majority vote of the city <br />17 council. ,, <br />18 SECTION 2: Section 2.30.030 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as <br />19 follows: <br />20 "2.30.030 Manner of Anointment It shall be the responsibility of <br />21 Po Y each <br />22 member of the city council to recommend one individual to serve on each of <br />23 the various city commissions and committees within the city to the mayor for <br />24 his consideration for appointment, subject to approval by a majority vote of the <br />25 city council. In the event that a member of the city council shall fail to make <br />26 any recommendation within thirty (30) days of the date of his or her being <br />27 <br />2$ sworn in to office or within sixty (60) days of the occurrence of a vacancy, the <br />
