CITY OF COLTON <br />SENIOR ACCOUNTANT <br />PAGE 2 <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Knowledge of: <br />Advance methods and practices of general and municipal government accounting, auditing and <br />finance. <br />Procedures and techniques of budget preparation and administration. <br />Basic laws regulating public finance, fiscal operations and governmental financial reporting. <br />Basic principals and practices of supervision and training. <br />Modern office methods, practices, procedures and equipment. <br />Ability —10-- <br />Analyze <br />o:Analyze and interpret financial and accounting records. <br />Prepare financial statements and reports. <br />Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. <br />Understand and apply pertinent laws, rules and regulations. <br />Work independently in the absence of supervision. <br />Supervise, train and evaluate assigned personnel. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of <br />work. <br />Experience and Training: Any combination of experience and training that would likely <br />provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br />knowledge and abilities would be: <br />Experience: <br />Four years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting or auditing work and <br />one year in a supervisory capacity desirable. <br />Training: <br />Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in <br />accounting, public administration, or a related field. <br />LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE: <br />Possession of an appropriate, valid California Driver's License. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: JULY 18, 1995 <br />cApershare\jobs\SRACCMDOC <br />
