VEGA, FINANCE DIRECTOR <br />SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION TO DONATE ONE SURPLUS POLICE VEHICLE TO INLAND <br />VALLEY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY. <br />DATE: APRIL 22, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND <br />The City received a letter from Inland Valley Development Agency (IVDA) requesting a 1993 or 1994 <br />vehicle with over 80,000. The IVDA Board of Directors requested that the City donate a vehicle to their <br />Resource Protection Force. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS <br />The IVDA will pay for the DMV transfer fees and any other related costs. The Police Department has a <br />surplus vehicle available. It is a 1993 Ford Crown Victoria police car with over 80,000 miles. This vehicle <br />has been declared surplus and was going to be sold at the next auction. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Sell the surplus vehicle at auction. <br />FINANCIAL. IMPACT <br />The City's general fund will not realize potential revenues of up to $3,000 that would otherwise be <br />received. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The City Council adopt the attached Resolution donating a 1993 Ford Crown Victoria surplus vehicle to <br />Inland Valley Development Agency. <br />Report prepared by Mary J.
