R-35-97 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING REAL <br />PROPERTY SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING ITS <br />DONATION. <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />WHEREAS, the Inland Valley Development Agency was created as a joint powers authority <br />between the Cities of Colton, San Bernardino, Loma Linda and the County of San Bernardino to <br />promote the redevelopment of the Norton Air Force Base facility and certain other areas within close <br />proximity; and <br />WHEREAS, the Inland Valley Development Agency has a need for vehicles for their <br />Resource Protection Force, which will provide security for the Norton Air Force Base facility; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of the Inland Valley Development Agency has requested that the City <br />of Colton donate a vehicle to their Resource Protection Force and have agreed to pay for the <br />Department of Motor Vehicles transfer fees and any related costs; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton Police Department has declared as surplus a 1993 Ford Crown <br />Victoria, with over 80,000 miles. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Colton as follows: <br />The City Council determines that said property is surplus and that it serves the interest of the <br />City to be donated to the Inland Valley Development Agency. <br />The City Manager is hereby authorized to transfer the title in said vehicle to Inland Valley <br />Development Agency. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6th day of May, 1997. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
