f� M1 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT <br />For City Council Meeting of NOVEMBER 18, 1997 <br />TO: HONORABLE MAYOR & CITY COUNCIL <br />APPROVAL: Len Wood, Interim City Manager N <br />FROM: Dennis Morris, Interim Personnel Director <br />SUBJECT: Approve and adopt Salary Resolution for the General Unit, the <br />Management/Confidential Unit, the Police Management Association, and <br />the Executive Unit. <br />DATE: November 6, 1997 <br />BACKGROUND: As authorized by the City of Colton, representatives of the City met with <br />representatives of the employee bargaining units to discuss compensation issues. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: Representatives of the General Unit, the Management/Confidential Unit, <br />the Police Management Association and the Executive Unit have reached an agreement with the City <br />on compensation issues. The agreement provides for a 4% salary increase retroactive to July 1, 1997. <br />The 4 % salary increase (in the case of the General Unit and the Management/Confidential Unit) will <br />be taken out of the money "earmarked" for the implementation of the compensation study. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The cost of the agreement is; $ 157,340 for the General Unit, $ 88,967 for <br />the Management/Confidential Unit, $ 12,082 for the Police Management Association and $ 39,985 for <br />the Executive Unit. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that City Council approve and adopt the tentative <br />agreements reached with the General Unit, the Management/Confidential Unit, the "sideletter" with <br />the Police Management Association and authorize staff to sign the comprehensive M.O.U. on <br />behalf of the City and adopt the salary resolutions necessary to adopt the salary increases. <br />Salary Resolution MOU's.doc <br />Item # 9 <br />
