ALTERNATIVES: Per Approved & Signed St. Plan 1149-1, in order to install Curb & Gutter on either side of Agua Mansa Road (north or south) and in order to mitigate the drainage problems which affect both sides of the street, a partial reconstruction of the existing street must be done. Due to the nature of the reconstruction, is neither cost-effective nor advisable engineering to attempt the reconstruction of one half of the street without the other half being done at the same time. It is also highly probable that were such an approach attempted, the projected reconstruction costs for each side of the street could be expected to be almost double. FINANCIAL IMPACT: An amount of $36,006.40 per cost quoted by Matich Corporation, is being requested to fund this project. Upon completion of the project the amount spent will be split among the property owners per the Agreement created by Resolution R-01-96. "Front" monies to be drawn from the Measure I Aqua Mansa Project Fund 3890-0000-000 Measure I approved in the 97/98 Budget. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT None. RECOMMENDATION: • Council Approve funding of Chapter 27 Project .out of Budget Pg #69 (Capital Improvement Measure I Agua Mansa Street Improvements 3890-0000-000) for amount of construction cost - $36.006.40. • Authorize staff to add as additional work the Chapter 27 construction to the existing/approved CDBG contract with Matich Corporation, whose contract includes the north 1/2 of Agua Mansa Road, and for purposes of economy of scale and cost savings to chapter 27 Project petitioners. • Set for Public Hearing the cost related to construction and levying of property assessments to the Chapter 27 participants for the City Council Meeting of October 21, 1997.
