We further understand that the aforementioned resident on South Cindee Lanehasnot experienced
any pressure related problems, but hasexpressed general concern regarding the high pressure;
however, the resident on East Sky View Drive has experienced problems with water meter damage
and consequent driveway and vard flooding. A high pressure water meter was installed by the City
on said service during the -summer of 1997, and there have been no complaints from the resident
since that time.
The pressurerelated problems in Matich Development Phase I have been associated with the
failure of individual pressure regulators. All homes constructed in the Matich Development Phase
I (Tracts 12563, 12564, 12565, and 12566) were constructed with a single pressure regulator
located in the garage.
It appears many of the homeowners or developers in the Matich Development Phase I development
connected their irrigation facilities to that portion of their water service line between the water
meter and the pressure regulator, thus subjecting their irrigation facilities to high pressures. Water
hammer (pressure spikes) resulting from the operation of "high pressure irrigation facilities in the
Matich Development Phase I area may have resulted in excessive wear of the pressure regulators,
leading to premature failure.
Homes constructed in Matich Development Phase II (Tracts 12567 & ;12568) located westerly of
the 'flood control channel, along with later phases of said development, were constructed with
pressure regulators in both the garage and on the customer's side of the water meter. There have
not been any high pressure complaints or, failures of pressure regulators reported from Matich
Development Phase II, although pressures in Phase H are; somewhat less (ranging between 120 psi
and 140 psi).
II -3
