service to properties with elevations between approximately 1,100 feet and 1,400 feet, and
provides static pressures ranging between approximately 50 psi and 180 psi.
Water systems are generally designed to provide static pressures between 40 psi and 130 psi.
Based on this criteria, the Reche Canyon I Pressure Zone does not have excessive pressures, while
portions of the Reche Canyon II Pressure Zone are subject t
_ o excessive pressures (i.e. greater than
130 psi). Existing static pressures for the Reche Canyon area are shown on Figure 3. Public
agencies typically require homeowners to provide and maintain individual pressure regulators (at
the homeo`rier's expense) in any areas where system pressure exceeds 80 psi.
C. HIGH,PRESSURE COMPLAINTS
It is our understanding that City staff has received customer complaints from one resident on East
Skye View Drive and from one resident on South Cindee Lane (hereafter referred to as the "Mohave
Area"), and from numerous residents on East Malibu Court, East To an a Way, East Carbon
P 8 Y
Court, East Bryce Court, East Gunnison Way and Canyon Drive on the valley floor in the central
part of Reche Canyon (hereafter referred to as "Matich Development Phase I").
Based on the high water elevation of the Wild Canyon Reservoir, the Mohave Area has pressures
between 135 and 180 psi and the Matich Development Phase I has pressures between 125 psi and
150
psi. There are several other areas within the Reche Canyon II Pressure Zone where pressures
exceed 135 psi (portions of Westwood Street, Prada Lane, and Placid Lane); however, residents of
said areas have not filed pressure related complaints.
w
II -2
