CITY OF COLTON <br />DEFINITION: <br />Under general direction this position supervises a variety of aquatic activities at a community <br />swimming pool. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: May include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Assist with the supervising and planning of aquatics programs to include swim lessons, <br />recreational swim, and related activities. <br />Instruction of advanced classes. <br />Assist with in-service training, maintenance of records, and program promotion. <br />Plan special events and activities. <br />Monitor filtration system and chemical levels. <br />Perform other related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Knowledge of: <br />Objectives and philosophy of recreation and its application to individual and group <br />behavior with particular emphasis on aquatic programming. <br />Pool filtration systems and proper chemical safety levels. <br />All aspects of instructional swim programming. <br />Ability to: <br />Organize and conduct various swim classes from beginning through advanced levels. <br />Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, subordinates and <br />the public. <br />
