DELGADO, Deputy City Clerk SUBJECT: UPDATE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE - R-121-94: Designated Employees; Boards/Commissions; Consultants DATE: February 04, 1998 Preliminary to the distribution of the Statement of Economic Interest Form, there is a need to review the Conflict of Interest Code; therefore, each Department Head is now requested to compare the positions found under "designated employees" in "Appendix A," attached hereto, with the positions now existing in his/her respective department. We respectfully request that you complete the City of Colton, Conflict of Interest Code, Department Notice. Section 1: DESIGNATED EMPLOYEE Under Government Code §82019, a " `Designated Employee' means any officer employee, member or consultant of any agency whose position with the agency: c) Is designated in a Conflict of Interest Code because the position entails the making or participation in the making of decisions which may foreseeably have a material effect on any f nancial interest. " This is the time to add the positions which you find may exercise independent judgment and make or participate in making governmental decisions which may effect the financial interest of the City; conversely, you may remove the positions that you determine no longer meet the criteria and should not be held responsible for reporting. Also attached is "Appendix B" which lists the disclosure categories in degree of responsibility, in other words, Group " 1 " seeks complete disclosure with subsequent group numbers requiring limited disclosure.
