DELGADO, Deputy City Clerk <br />SUBJECT: UPDATE OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE - R-121-94: <br />Designated Employees; Boards/Commissions; Consultants <br />DATE: February 04, 1998 <br />Preliminary to the distribution of the Statement of Economic Interest Form, there is a need to <br />review the Conflict of Interest Code; therefore, each Department Head is now requested to compare <br />the positions found under "designated employees" in "Appendix A," attached hereto, with the <br />positions now existing in his/her respective department. We respectfully request that you complete <br />the City of Colton, Conflict of Interest Code, Department Notice. <br />Section 1: DESIGNATED EMPLOYEE <br />Under Government Code §82019, a " `Designated Employee' means any officer employee, member <br />or consultant of any agency whose position with the agency: <br />c) Is designated in a Conflict of Interest Code because the position entails the <br />making or participation in the making of decisions which may foreseeably have a <br />material effect on any f nancial interest. " <br />This is the time to add the positions which you find may exercise independent judgment and make <br />or participate in making governmental decisions which may effect the financial interest of the City; <br />conversely, you may remove the positions that you determine no longer meet the criteria and <br />should not be held responsible for reporting. <br />Also attached is "Appendix B" which lists the disclosure categories in degree of responsibility, in <br />other words, Group " 1 " seeks complete disclosure with subsequent group numbers requiring <br />limited disclosure. <br />Conflict of Interest Memo I <br />
