SENIOR ENERGY SERVICES SPECIALIST CITY OF COLTON <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />• Develop and disseminate customer information promoting wise and efficient use of electrical <br />resources; develop and present educational programs and assist customers in identifying <br />efficient uses of electric resources. <br />• Assist in administering the Utility Load Management Program providing customer contact, <br />installation and equipment maintenance. <br />• Prepare work plans and operating forecasts and assist with preparation of division budget; <br />prepare statistical and narrative reports; prepare energy conservation and management grant <br />proposals; and may prepare agenda reports relating to energy conservation and management <br />programs. <br />• Respond to questions and concerns from the general public; provide information as is <br />appropriate and resolve service complaints. <br />• Evaluate assigned work projects; estimate time, materials and equipment necessary for the <br />successful completion of the project; acquire necessary resources as is appropriate. <br />• Perform related duties and responsibilities as necessary. <br />• Submit recommendations to the Utilities Director on the budget. May participate in <br />organizational and community group meetings; respond to questions and inquiries. <br />• Perform other related duties as required. <br />WORKING CONDITIONS: <br />Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, <br />bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires <br />grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer <br />keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading written reports and <br />work-related documents. Acute hearing is required when providing phone and counter service. <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and/or Eaoerience: <br />Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and <br />abilities necessary for a Senior Energy Services Specialist. A typical way of obtaining the <br />required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of two years of directly related <br />experience in energy program development, and a bachelors degree in Economics, <br />Business Administration, or Engineering or a related field. <br />License/Certil5cate: <br />Possession of or ability to obtain a valid class C California drivers license. <br />]KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS: <br />Knowledge of: <br />Operations and standard operating procedures of an energy services program. <br />Principles and practices of program development and administration. <br />Complex principles and practices of energy rate setting. <br />Principles and practices of budget administration. <br />Methods and techniques of supervision, training and motivation. <br />Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations. <br />Occupational hazards and standard safety practices. <br />
