CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
Council Meeting of September 15, 1998
TO: Honorable Mayor and Council m ers
APPROVAL: Henry T. Garcia, City Manage
FROM: Daryl J. Parrish, Assistant City Manager
SUBJECT: Resolution Relinquishing Cal -Trans Right of Way at Steel Road
And Interstate 215 to the City of Colton
DATE: September 7, 1998
BACKGROUND:
On September 1, 1998, the State of California Department of Transportation sent
notification to the City of Colton that it was prepared to relinquish responsibility, rights,
title, and interest associated with the portion of Steel Road at Interstate 215, as
identified in the attachment.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Although it has always been our position that the right of way identified in the
attachment belongs to Colton, we are in a position to accept the State of Califomia's
relinquishment of the aforementioned right of way. Furthermore, the City proposes to
agree with the State to waive the required ninety -day notice, as set forth in Section 73
of the State Streets and Highway Code by banging the attached Resolution before the
City Council.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached Resolution NO.
LU-9S'relinquishing State right of way at Steel Road and Interstate 215 to the City
of Colton and waiving the required ninety -day notification requirement.
Attachments
Item # 21
