Garcia .: ; ;UN City Manager CITY MANAGER City of Colton 650 North La Cadena Dr. Colton, CA 92324 Subject: Relinquishment of Steel Road at I-215 Dear Mr. Garcia: The State is preparing documentation required to relinquish Steel Road at the I-215 Freeway to the City of Colton. The area to be relinquished is identified on the attached map. The State will relinquish responsibility, rights, title and interest associated with the identified portion of Steel Road to the City of Colton. To proceed with the relinquishment, we need a resolution from the City that indicates the City of Colton will accept control, responsibility for maintenance, and title to the portion of Steel Road identified on the attached map. In order to expedite the relinquishment process, the resolution needs to include a statement indicating that the City desires to waive the required ninety- (90) day notice, as set forth in Section 73 of the State Streets and Highway Code, and that the City agrees that the roadway to be accepted, is in a state of good repair. A draft resolution is attached. Our target, is to place this item on the September California Transportation Commission Meeting. This meeting is on September 21 & 22, therefore, we would need the resolution adopted by the City at their September 15`I' Council meeting.
