Planning Commissioner Minutes <br />February 23, 1999 <br />Page 3 <br />ITEM H - COMMISSION COMMENT <br />Commissioner Prieto indicated that he had spoke with David Zamora and asked him to look into <br />posting Pepper, Rancho and Mt. Vernon for trucks. He stated that he had knowledge that the truck <br />usage in that area was going to increase and was concerned about the damage the streets may <br />incur. <br />Commissioner Hernandez questioned whether the Planning Division application could be modified to <br />provide the Commission with a better understanding of the intent of the business that would be <br />opening. Ms. Banuelos stated that a checklist might be helpful and could possibly be added to the <br />existing application to better define the intent of the proposed project. Mr. Soto indicated that Staff <br />does contact the applicant for a better understanding when warranted. Commissioner Hernandez <br />expressed concern with how little information the application provides the Commission. Ms. <br />Banuelos explained that the Design Review Committee reviews all projects for conditions that may <br />be needed to allow the proposed project to proceed. She stated that a text amendment to the <br />Ordinance that would clarify the Design Review process as to the applicant's responsibility of <br />representation of the proposed project might be needed.
