Section 9.20.05SV the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />9.20.055 Officially sanctioned special events -Permit requirement. Notwithstanding <br />any other provision of this chapter, drinking or consuming alcoholic beverages may <br />be allowed at officially sanctioned special events so long as such drinking or <br />consuming or alcoholic beverages occurs only pursuant to a permit issued in <br />accordance with this section. Officially sanctioned special events shall be those <br />events sponsored by qualified and insured business, corporate or public entities for <br />which a permit has boon issued. The city and the redevelopment agency shall at all <br />times be deemed to be a qualified and insured public entity for purposes of this <br />section. Application for a permit to hold an officially sanctioned special event at <br />which alcohol will be served shall be made through the community development <br />department and must be approved by the city council at a public meeting, provided, <br />however, that the city manager may approve such permits for a city or <br />redevelopment agency sponsored event. All such events must comply fully with any <br />applicable rules or regulations of the California Alcoholic Beverages Control Board <br />SECTION 2. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest thereto and shall <br />within fifteen days of Its adoption cause it, or a summary of it, to be published in the Colton <br />Courier, a newspaper published and circulated in the City of Colton; and thereupon and thereafter <br />this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force according to law. <br />ADOPTED this 6t' day of April 1999. <br />ATTEST: <br />ICarolina P.
