R-80-99 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 66-98 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Colton, Police Department has determined that the City's <br />current rate of compensation for the position of Police stenographer is lower than the prevailing rates paid by <br />other cities for the same position; and <br />WHEREAS, THE CITY Council recognizes that an experienced and well-qualified Police Stenographer <br />is necessary for the police Department to function effectively; and <br />WHEREAS, THE City Council also recognizes that providing competitive wages is essential in <br />retaining experienced and well-qualified employees; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the compensation for the position of police <br />Stenographer by establishing a new hourly rate which is competitive with prevailing rates paid by other cities. <br />BE IT NOW THEREFORE RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1: Resolution No. 66-98, establishing a part-time Pay and Classification Plan for the City of <br />Colton, is hereby amended as follows: <br />SALARY <br />CLASSIFICATION RANGE HOURLY RATE <br />Police Stenographer 018 $13.00 <br />SECTION 2.
