R-106-99 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF COLTON AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION <br />OF THE PROJECT TO THE SAN BERNARDINO ASSOCIATED <br />GOVERNMENTS IN RESPONSE TO THE CALL FOR PROJECTS. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton is a municipal corporation duly organized and existing <br />pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of California ("City"); <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton desires to obtain additional grant funds for transportation <br />infrastructure projects; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 9, 1999, San Bernardino Associated Governments ("SANBAG") <br />issued a Call for Projects ("Call') for the San Bernardino County South Coast Air Basin; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Call identified the Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) Program <br />as the funding source for transportation related projects that contribute to the attainment <br />or maintenance of the National Ambient air Quality Standards and implement regional <br />air quality and congestion management plans; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is located in the San Bernardino County South Coast Air Basin and <br />a legal entity eligible to apply for Federal Transportation Equity Act/Congestion <br />Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program funding; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF COLTON DO <br />HEREBY RESOLVE the following: <br />1. Support the submission of the City of San Bernardino as the lead agency <br />for the Traffic Signal Modernization Project on Washington Street at <br />Waterman Avenue. <br />
