Clarke, Utility Director <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RECRUITMENT AND RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE <br />APPOINTMENT IN THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF CONSUMER SERVICE <br />FIELD REPRESENTATIVE IN THE UTILITIES DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: Thursday, December 10, 1998 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />There is one (1) vacant Consumer Service Field Representative position in the Utilities <br />Department. Attached is the job description of the classification; the salary range is $2182- <br />2841 per month. <br />DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS: <br />Recruitment for said position will be conducted and an eligibility list established upon Council <br />approval. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience requirements as <br />specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This approved Enterprise Fund position in the fiscal year 1998-99 Budget, funded as follows: <br />Account No. 520-8000-8003-1010-0580 (Salary) and Account No. 520-8000-8003-1100-0000 <br />(Salary related Benefits). <br />ThorrTas K. Clarke, Utility Director <br />EXPECTED FILL DATE: ASAP. <br />CUSTOMER SERVICE IMPACT: <br />The position provides for the prompt, daily connection and disconnection of electric and water <br />service for new and existing customers. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the City Council approves the recruitment and ratification of the employee appointment to <br />the full-time position of Consumer Service Field Representative as recommended by the Utility <br />Director. <br />Attachment: Job Description <br />Report Prepared by: Timothy C.
