<br />6.16.150 Receptacles --Weight.
<br />Receptacles shall not exceed fifty pounds in weight, including the contents thereof.

<br />6.16.160 Refuse --Placement in proper receptacles required.
<br />All refuse shall be placed for collection in receptacles as defined and specified herein.

<br />6.16.170 Infected articles --Deposit in refuse receptacle prohibited.
<br />The owner or occupant of any premises where an infectious or contagious disease is in
<br />existence or has prevailed shall immediately notify the sanitarian of the city thereof. Under no
<br />circumstances shall wearing apparel, bedding or other articles or material from any home or
<br />place where any infectious or contagious disease has prevailed be deposited in a refuse
<br />receptacle, but all such items shall be disposed of only as directed by the sanitarian. (Ord. 1009

<br />6.16.175 Receptacles --Standards and regulations to conform to permits, franchise agreements or
<br />contract specifications.
<br />Effective July 1, 1996, the provisions of Sections 6.16.070 through 6.16.170 establish
<br />minimum standards for receptacles to be used in the city and placement of refuse within such
<br />receptacles. Additional or different requirements and standards may be established by the
<br />director of public works subject to the approval of the city council for receptacles and receptacle
<br />use for refuse, recyclables and green waste collected within the city by any authorized refuse
<br />collection provider pursuant to a permit, franchise agreement or contract with the city. (Ord.

<br />6.16.180 Tree trimmings --Procedure for collection.
<br />Effective July 1, 1996, except as required by any authorized refuse collection provider
<br />pursuant to any permit, franchise agreement or contract with the city, tree trimmings, tree limbs,
<br />tree trunks and tree stumps if not placed in receptacles, shall be tied in bundles not exceeding
<br />fifty pounds in weight; however, bundles will not be collected if they exceed fifteen inches in
<br />diameter or four feet in length. (Ord. 0-15-96 § 4, 1996: Ord. 1009 § 8(c), 1959)
<br />6.16.190 Collection --Who may collect.
<br />Effective July 1, 1996, the collection, removal and disposal of all refuse shall be
<br />performed exclusively by the city, its agents, franchisees, or independent contractors under the
<br />supervision of the public works director, under such terms, conditions and limitations imposed
<br />upon such authorized refuse collection providers by the city council in order to protect the public
<br />health, safety and welfare of the city. (Ord. 0-15-96 § 5, 1996: Ord. 1009 § 9(a), 1959)
<br />6.16.200 Collection --Permit and fees.
<br />Effective July 1, 1996, every agent, franchisee, or independent contractor authorized by
<br />the city council to collect, remove and dispose of refuse, shall comply fully with all requirements
<br />imposed by any permit, franchise agreement or contract between the city and such agent,
<br />franchisee or independent contractor, including without limitation, payment of fees, posting of
<br />bonds, obtaining of necessary licenses and permits as may be required by local, state or federal
<br />law, including without limitation Section 5.02.650 of the Colton Municipal Code and any other
<br />requirements as may be imposed by action of the city council. Nothing contained in this section
<br />shall be construed to modify or impair the terms and conditions of any permit, franchise
