6.16.060 Burning--Rubbish--Permit required --Exception. <br />No rubbish shall be burned, by incinerator or otherwise, except under permit issued by <br />the fire department, save and excepting that which may be necessary in the operation of <br />barbecue grills. (Ord. 1009 § 5(b), 1959) <br />6.16.070 Receptacles--Garbage--Required--Construction--Capacity. <br />Every owner, tenant, employee, or occupant of any premises where garbage is created <br />shall provide upon such premises in a suitable place one or more garbage receptacles, together <br />with tight -fitting covers, constructed of galvanized metal, rubber, plastic, or other material <br />approved by the public works director, for receiving and holding all garbage created upon such <br />premises between the time of collection and removal. Each such receptacle shall have the <br />capacity of not less than three nor more than sixteen gallons, and shall be watertight. (Ord. <br />0-15-96 § 2 (part), 1996; Ord. 1009 § 6(a), 1959) <br />6.16.080 Receptacles--Rubbish--Required. <br />Every owner, tenant, employee or occupant of any premises where rubbish is created <br />shall, where necessary, in addition to the garbage receptacle, provide upon such premises one <br />or more receptacles acceptable to the public works director to contain all rubbish which may <br />accumulate upon such premises between removals. (Ord. 0-15-96 § 2 (part), 1996; Ord. 1009 § <br />6(b), 1959) <br />6.16.090 Receptacles --Combined refuse --Requirements. <br />If receptacles for combined refuse are used, they shall meet the requirements stated in <br />Section 6.16.070 for garbage receptacles, except they shall not be more than eighteen inches in <br />diameter and thirty-six inches in height. (Ord. 1009 § 6(c), 1959) <br />6.16.100 Receptacles --Placement. <br />A. Excepting as stated herein, such receptacles shall not be placed within the <br />limits of any street or alley, unless authorized by the public works director, nor shall they be <br />placed anywhere so as to constitute a nuisance. <br />B. Not earlier than six p.m. of the day before each day set for collection, <br />receptacles to be collected shall be placed as follows: <br />1. Where there is an alley in the rear of the premises, the receptacles shall be <br />placed in such alley and next to the rear property line of such premises. <br />2. In all other cases the receptacles shall be placed on the curb in front of the <br />premises. (Ord. 0-15-96 § 2 (part), 1996; Ord. 1009 § 6(d), 1959) <br />6.16.110 Receptacles --Removal. <br />All receptacles so placed for collection shall be removed from the street or alley within <br />twelve hours after the contents thereof have been collected. (Ord. 1009 § 6(e), 1959) <br />6.16.120 Receptacles --Interference with prohibited. <br />No person other than the owner thereof or any officer, employee or licensee of the city, <br />shall move, remove or interfere with any garbage or rubbish receptacle, or the contents thereof. <br />(Ord. 1009 § 6(f), 1959) <br />6.16.130 Receptacles --Must be kept clean. <br />All garbage and rubbish receptacles shall be kept in a clean and sanitary condition by <br />the owner or person using the same.
