Inasmuch as Presidents of the United States of America have dedicated the third week of <br />November as Family week in the United States, and inasmuch as a strong healthy America is <br />dependent on the Family as the basic unit of our society; it is proposed that the Kiwanis Clubs <br />of this District, in support of the President's Family Program, select a Family of the Year from <br />the CALIFORNIA -NEVADA -HAWAII DISTRICT. <br />PROPOSED PROGRAM: <br />1. Nominations to be solicited from throughout the community for competition. These <br />families should have qualities and accomplishments supportive of the American way <br />of life. Some of the characteristics could be as follows: <br />Love in the home. <br />Respect of parents for children. <br />Respect of children for parents. <br />Participation in community affairs. <br />Participation in church activities. <br />Number of children. <br />Children's involvement in school <br />activities. <br />Talents of children and parents. <br />Scouting activities. <br />Scholastic achievement. <br />Services rendered. <br />2. Each Kiwanis Club may select a Kiwanis and/or a non-Kiwanis family to represent their <br />Club. <br />3. Select two (2) families from each of the Kiwanis divisions to represent that Division in the <br />District Program. <br />4. Judging for the District Family will be done by the Foundation Families in Kiwanis <br />Committee. <br />5. This program will have publicity throughout the Kiwanis District. All members should be <br />encouraged to nominate a family and to encourage their friends to nominate families. <br />6. Nominations Emd recognition awards will follow the time schedule attached. <br />7. Publicity in your area should be coordinated by your Lt.
