NOTICE 1999-2M PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the CITY OF COLTON is inviting sealed Bids for the above -stated project and will receive such Bids in the offices of the CITY CLERK, located at 650 NORTH LA CADENA DRIVE, COLTON, CALIFORNIA, until 2:00 P.M., September 7,1999, at which time they will be publicly opened in the CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS Copies of the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents may be picked up at the Public Works Department at the CITY HALL ANNEX, 655 NORTH LA CADENA DRIVE, COLTON, CA 92324 upon payment of a $70.00 Non- refundable fee, or by mail for an additional fee of $20.00 for Shipping & Handling. Upon written request (accompanied by a check for the above -stated fee), arrangements may be made for Postal delivery; for UPS or FEDEX delivery, a billing account number must be submitted. The CITY assumes no liability for the timely delivery of packages processed through the Post Office or UPS/FEDEX delivery. All wdften correspondence shall be directed to the CITY OF COLTON, 650 N. LA CADENA DRIVE, COLTON, CA. 92324, ATTN.: DUSTY DAPPEN, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. A Bidders' Registry will be maintained in the Public Works Department and shall serve as the list of valid Bidders for this project. The Plan Holders list generated from said Bid Registry will be maintained for public access. Addenda and other correspondence will be transmitted only to those on the Plan Holder's list. Registered copies of the Contract Documents, Specifications & Plans may be distributed to 'Plan Houses". These copies are for informational purposes only and may not be copied for the purposes of Bid Proposal submittal. Any Bid proposal submitted which has been copied from either a "Plan HouseD or another Registered Bidder, and/or any Bid Proposal which is submitted by a contractor who is not included on the Bid Registry list will not be accepted; if unknowingly accepted for Bid Opening said proposal will be, upon review, deemed non-responsive and thereby rejected. Any Contract entered into pursuant to this Notice will incorporate the provisions of the State of California. The minimum prevailing rate of per them wages for each craft, classification or type of workman needed to execute the Contract shall be those determined by the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of California, which are on file at the CITY HALL, CITY OF COLTON, 650 NORTH LA CADENA DRIVE, COLTON, CALIFORNIA, 92324, and are available to any interested party upon request. The Prime Contractor and all Subcontractors are required to pay their laborers and mechanics employed under this Contract, a wage not less than the minimum wage for the work classification as specified in both the Federal and State wage decision when the Contract amount for the Prime Contractor exceeds $2,000.00. The higher of the two applicable wage classifications, either State prevailing wage or Davis -Bacon Federal prevailing wage, will be enforced for all Work under this Contract. Attention is directed to the provisions of Section 1777.5 (Chapter 1411, Statutes of 1968) and 1777.5 of the Labor Code concerning the employment of apprentices by the Contractor or any Subcontractor under him. Affirmative action to ensure against discrimination in employment practice on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, religion or handicap will also be required. The CITY OF COLTON hereby affirmatively ensures that minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit Bids in response to this Notice and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex or religion in any consideration leading to the award of Contract.
