GARCIA, CITY MANAGER <br />FROM: AL HOLLIMAN, FINANCE DIRECTO <br />SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR RATIFICATION OF EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT TO THE FULL-TIME POSITION OF <br />SENIOR ACCOUNANT IN THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT <br />DATE: SEPTEMBER 7, 1999 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Another Senior Accountant position in the Finance Department has recently become vacant as a result of an employee <br />resignation. Attached is the job description for the classification; salary range is $3,082 - $3,746 per month. <br />DISCUSSIONIANALYIS: <br />The other Senior Accountant position in the department is also vacant, and the City Council approved recruitment for that <br />position on July 20, 1999. As a result, an eligibility list is already in the process of being established. The Finance <br />Department will be able to fill both vacancies from this list. The candidate chosen will meet the education and experience <br />requirements as specified in the job description. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />This is a General Fund position and is funded for the 1999-2000 fiscal year as follows: 100-6040-6041-1010 (salary) and <br />100-6040-6041-1100 (benefits). <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />It is recommended that Council approve the ratification of the employee appointment to the full-time position of Senior <br />Accountant as recommended by the Finance Director. <br />Item #9 <br />
