Vernon Corridor Redevelopment Project and Report From <br />Planning Commission Pursuant to Government Code Section <br />65401 and 65402. <br />DATE: March 27, 2000 <br />Background <br />At the January 18, 2000 Agency Board meeting, the Mt. Vernon Citizens Advisory Committee <br />(the "Committee") presented its recommendations on how approximately $2.8 million of <br />available bond proceeds should be used in the Mt. Vernon Corridor Project Area. The final cost <br />breakdown of the projects recommended for funding by the Committee is attached to the staff <br />report as Exhibit "A", and is summarized as follows: <br />1. <br />Mt. Vernon Streetscape <br />$1,469,548 <br />2. <br />Residential Curb & Gutters & Sidewalks <br />$ 316,250 <br />3. <br />Residential Lighting <br />$ 13,000 " <br />4. <br />Commercial Rehab Grants <br />$ 350,000 <br />5. <br />Scenic Drive Fencing <br />$ 24,000 <br />6. <br />Colton Avenue Undergrounding <br />$ 63,000 <br />7. <br />Colton Avenue Bikepath <br />$ 100,000 (Partial) <br />8. <br />Fairway Street Widening <br />$ 330,438 <br />9. <br />Demolition of Buildings <br />$ 50,000 <br />10. <br />Abandoned Home Acquisition/Rehab <br />$100,000' <br />Estimated Total Cost <br />$ 2,816,236 <br />Note: Exhibit "A" include other projects that were considered for funding by the Committee, but did not <br />receive the necessary support to be one of the projects recommended for funding. <br />Item #15 <br />
