PROTECTIVE RELAY Avpaplk
MAINTENANCE, \\II--
SOLID-STATE N k -
4'h days, 3.6 PCEUs Course 270
Hands-on
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
• Test and calibrate basic and complex solid-
state relays
• Use state-of-the-art test sets for relay
testing
• Set and apply solid-state relay options
• Power system analysis for relay application
Each student will perform testing and
calibration of voltage, sync -check, overcurrent,
directional overcurrent, power, and
transformer differential relays manufactured by
Basler Electric. Studcars will learn to interpret
time curves associated with the relay types as
well as external and internal relay schematics.
Operational theory and relay application will
be presented in lecture.
Lectures are augmented by the use of student
exercises which teach troubleshooting and
problem solving involving relay application
and testing. Certification requires passing both
a practical and written examination.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Technicians and engineers who are responsible
for testing and calibration of solid-state relays
in a power system. Anyone seeking Certi-
fication in Solid -State Protective Relays should
attend this course.
PREREQUISITES
Working relay, knowledge.
MAINTENANCE,
SOLID-STATE GENERATION
4'h days, 3.6 PCEUs Course 407
Hands-on
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
• Maintain, test, and calibrate basic and
complex solid-state generation relays
• Theory and application of solid-state
generation relays
• How to correctly use modern test equipment
to test solid-state generation relays
• Interpret external and internal relay
schematics
Extensive hands-on laboratory exercises will be
used to teach testing and calibration of the
more complex solid-state generation relays.
Voltage controlled overcurrent, negative
sequence, loss of field, reverse power and
differential relay theory and application along
with hands-on testing will give the student
certification status on solid-state generation
relays. Participants are required to test,
troubleshoot, and calibrate relays presented
during the course. Certification requires
passing both a practical and written
examination.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Technicians and engineers who are responsible
for maintaining, testing, and calibrating
generation relays at power plants. Anyone
seeking Certification in Solid -State Generation
Protective Relays should attend this course.
PREREQUISITES
Basic relay experience. SCIENTIFIC
