City Council Meeting of March 7, 2000
La Mesa Appeal DC -69-99
Page 2
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
It is unknown at this time what the financial impact will be to the City's revenue accounts. Once the
minor improvements were completed and occupancy occurred, sales taxes would generate
additional new revenue for the City. The project site (vacant K -mart building) currently does not
generate sales tax revenue.
DAVIU–R—. ZAMOI , Commu ty Development Director
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:
Staff determined that the project would not have significant environmental impacts since the
proposed project would be locating into an existing developed commercial/retail location, and would
have a significantly lower traffic volume than the previous site occupant (K -mart).
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the applicant's appeal, and adopt the attached
Resolution overturning the Planning Commission's denial of the Conditional Use Permit for File Index
Number DC -69-99. Should the Council choose deny the applicant's appeal, and uphold the Planning
Commission decision, the appropriate Resolution is attached for Council adoption.
Attachments: Planning Commission Minutes of February 8, 2000
Copy of Appeal filed by La Mesa RV
Planning Commission Staff Report
Resolutions (2)
