He indicated <br />- that he feels it will be compatible with the surrounding areas. <br />Alexander Taylor, 1077-3 Santo Antonio Drive, Colton <br />Mr. Taylor indicated that he is the President of the Park Mediterranean Homeowners' <br />Association. He stated that he is opposed to this proposed project. He expressed <br />concern with the possible decline of property values in his neighborhood. He stated <br />that the City Council is the best group of people that money can buy and that he <br />believed they have been paid off. Mr. Taylor stated that if the project does go forward <br />that he would like to see the trees on Washington Street remain and that the applicant <br />install grass to control the dust. <br />Barbara Stoller, 1097-3 Santo Antonio Drive, Colton <br />Ms. Stoffer expressed concern with the impact this proposed project would have on <br />the property value of her home. She asked that the Commission to ensure that the <br />project is conditioned to maintain the quality of development in the City. Ms. Stoffer <br />thanked staff for addressing her concerns when she spoke with them. She asked that <br />the Commission consider an eight -foot high decorative block wall due to the height of <br />the recreational vehicles and that landscaping be installed to include vines to add <br />color and deter graffiti on the wall. She asked that any lighting be directed away from <br />the homes. <br />Frank DeGelas, Mike Thompson's RV Superstore, RV Center Drive, Colton <br />Mr. DeGelas stated that the Kmart building is in front of the RV Expo and that this <br />proposed project would be devastating to those businesses in the RV Expo and would <br />cause his business to leave the City. He indicated that this proposed project would <br />lead to the demise of the RV Expo. Mr. DeGelas described the benefits of being <br />located in a RV mall type setting. He stated that they are required to pay for their <br />share of the advertising to promote the mall. He expressed concern that La Mesa RV <br />would benefit from their advertising without contributing to the cost. He stated that <br />there is not a sufficient enough market to support an additional dealer in the City. Mr. <br />DeGelas indicated that a RV dealership would not bring additional customers to the <br />restaurants and businesses in that area. He stated that he would like to see a <br />sporting goods store or similar business locate into the vacant Kmart building. He <br />indicated that he is strongly opposed to this proposed project. <br />Horace Brunson, 1097 Santo Antonio Drive #1, Colton <br />Mr. Brunson stated that his residence faces the proposed project. He expressed <br />concerns with noise, traffic, air pollution and property values. He stated that he is <br />opposed to and would move if the proposed project were approved. He indicated that <br />he likes living in the City and does not believe that the location is appropriate for a RV <br />dealer. <br />Lee Deieriing, American RV Expo & Villelli Enterprises, RV Center Drive, Colton <br />Mr. Deierling expressed concern with the overdevelopment of the Cooley Ranch area <br />by the City's Redevelopment Agency causing the decline of property values and <br />
