POWER LINE HELPER <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />ladders, use power and noise producing tools and equipment, drive motorized vehicles and heavy <br />equipment, work in heavy vehicle traffic conditions and often work with constant interruption. <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and/or Experience: <br />Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and <br />abilities necessary for a Power Line Helper. A High School diploma or equivalent. As <br />this is an entry level position no prior experience is required. <br />License/Certificate: <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid class C California driver's license. <br />KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SHILLS: <br />Knowledge of - <br />Operations and standard operating procedures of electric power line installation and <br />maintenance. <br />Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations. <br />Operational characteristics of electric power line installation and maintenance of standard <br />equipment. <br />Occupational hazards and standard safety practices. <br />Proper English, spelling and grammar. <br />Basic principles of mathematics. <br />Ability to: <br />Apply applicable laws, codes and regulations. <br />Understand and follow instructions. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships. <br />Learn methods, materials and tools used in electrical construction and maintenance work. <br />Skill to: <br />Safely operate a motor vehicle on City Streets. <br />Effectively utilize tools of the trade. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: February 17, 1998 <br />
