R-40 -00 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND DELEGATING AUTHORITY TO THE <br />UTILITY DIRECTOR TO ORDER ACTIONS REQUIRED TO INSTALL TWO <br />WATER VALVES AT THE INTERSECTION OF LA CADENA DR., BORDWELL <br />ST., AND LAUREL ST. <br />WHEREAS, Section 22050 of the State Public Contract Code governs emergency <br />contracting procedures applicable to the City of Colton. <br />WHEREAS, the Colton City Council finds emergency conditions existed on the 24" <br />water main at the intersection of La Cadena Dr., Bordwell St., and Laurel St. to insure the <br />health and safety of the public. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council resolves as follows: <br />1. Thomas K. Clarke, Utility Director, is delegated the authority to order <br />materials and labor to have two plugs inserted into the 24" the <br />transmission line to stop the flow of water; and order materials and labor <br />to install two valves at the intersection of La Cadena Dr., Bordwell St., <br />and Laurel St., at the 24" water main authorized by Section 22050 of the <br />Public Contract Code to respond to the emergency. <br />PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 16th day of May, 2000. <br />ATTEST: <br />CAROLINA P.
