CITY OF COLTON <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br />FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) <br />PROJECT PROPOSAL APPLICATIONS <br />1 City of Colton -Parks, Recreation and Family Services Department, South <br />Colton Park Improvements, $95,000: CDBG funds are being requested for <br />improvements at three different park sites. (1) Veterans Park: Patio slab, <br />outdoor basketball court, play equipment, skateboard area with portable <br />skateboard ramps ($50,500), (2) Mini -park, located north of "N" Street, <br />between 50' Street and the alley: Landscaping, install irrigation system and <br />children's play equipment ($15,000), (3) Mini -park, located north of "N" Street, <br />between 7th Street and the Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad tracks: <br />Landscaping, install irrigation system and children's play equipment <br />($15,000). <br />2. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation and Family Services Department/Child Care <br />Division, Computer Education Enrichment Program, $10,000: CDBG funds <br />are being requested to purchase eight (8) computers for the Child Care <br />Latchkey sites. There are four (4) Latchkey sites that provide educational <br />childcare. Two computers per site would be provided to assist school age <br />children in developing their computer skills and provide an enriched <br />educational experience. <br />3. City of Colton -Colton Public Library, Aduft Literacy Services Pruqram, <br />$24,000: The Colton Public Library proposes to expand in providing adult <br />literacy services at the Colton Public Library and the Pete Luque Branch for <br />low and moderate income adults.
