STOREKEEPER <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and/or Experience: <br />Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities <br />necessary for a Storekeeper. A typical way of obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the <br />equivalent of two years of experience in responsible store keeping work involving a variety of stock or the <br />performance of related work, and a high school diploma. <br />License/Certificate: <br />Possession of valid Class C California driver's license. <br />KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILLS: <br />Knowledge of: <br />Operations and standard operating procedures of a Store/Warehouse program. <br />Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations. <br />Occupational hazards and standard safety practices. <br />Modern office equipment including a computer and applicable software. <br />Methods and techniques for basic report preparation and writing. <br />Methods and techniques for record keeping. <br />Proper English, spelling and grammar. <br />Basic principles of mathematics. <br />Ability to: <br />Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports. <br />Analyze and evaluate new and existing service delivery methods and standard operating procedures. <br />Make adjustments to standard operating procedures as is appropriate. <br />Apply applicable laws, codes and regulations. <br />Work independently. <br />Understand and follow instructions. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships. <br />Skills to: <br />Operate standard modern office equipment including computers and applicable software. <br />Effectively operate a motor vehicle on City streets. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: February 17, 1998 <br />Revised 11/28/00 <br />Human Resource ReviewOn file in the HR Dept 11/28/00 <br />Date <br />City Manager Approval On file in the HR Dept 11/28/00 <br />Date <br />
