R-84-02 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF COLTON APPROVING THE CITY OF COLTON HOUSING <br />ELEMENT UPDATE AND ADOPTING A NEGATIVE <br />DECLARATION: FILE INDEX NUMBER DG-41-00 <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Depariment has coordinated the <br />preparation of and update to the City of Colton Housing Element ("Housi�g Element Update") and <br />an Environmental AssessmenUNegative DeGaration to evaluate and address impacts that may be <br />generated by the update; and <br />WHEREAS, a Draft of the Housing Element Update was sent to the California <br />Department of Housing and Community Development ("HCD") for review in accordancewith State <br />law and HCD has indicated an intent to certify the Housing Element Update upon inGusion of <br />certain amendments; and <br />WHEREAS, the amendments suggested by HCD have been incorporated into the <br />Updated Housing Element; and <br />WHEREAS, on June 25, 2002, the Planning Commission of the City of Colton <br />considered and recommended approval of the Housing Element Update, the amendments and <br />accompanying Environmental Assessment /Negative Declaration ( File Index Number DG41-00); <br />and <br />WHEREAS, public hearings, as required by law, were held on the proposed <br />Housing Element Update, the amendments and Environmental AssessmenUNegative Declaation <br />by the Planning Commission on November 14, 2000 and June 25, 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on September 3, <br />2002 at which time the Housing Element Update, the amendments and accompanying <br />Environmental Assessment /Negative DeGaration were considered and approved. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF COLTON: <br />
