Fiscal Year 2003-2004 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program Project Proposal Applications 1. City of Colton -City Manager's Office (Historic Preservation Officer), "Historic Resources Preservation Grant Program," $105,000: Proposal to establish a maximum $10,000 grant program for property owners (owner occupied) of residential homes that have been designated as a historic resource and are listed on the City Historic Landmark Register. CDBG funds will be used for rehabilitation, restoration, replacement of principal fixtures, and for labor, materials, and other costs of rehabilitation of historically designated residential houses. 2. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation, & Family Services Department, "Cooley Ranch Elementary School Replacement of Child Care Modular Unit," $150,000: The Community Child Care Division is requesting CDBG funds to acquire a 2,160 square foot modular unit to replace the existing child care modular unit located at Cooley Ranch Elementary School. The new facility would contain restroom facilities, be able to accommodate more children, and would be used for the child care latchkey program. 3. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation, & Family Services Department, "South Colton Mini Parks Project", $20,000: Refurbish and improve two small parks along the north side of "N" Street on either side of the railroad tracks. 4. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation, & Family Services Department, "Veterans Park Rehabilitation Improvements," $20,000: Restoration of two picnic shelters located at Veterans Park and renovation of the landscaping and irrigation system located in front of the Pete Luque Community Center. 5. City of Colton -Engineering Department, "Census Tracts 66 & 70 Sidewalks, Curbs, and other Improvements Project, " $393,800: The project would include the installation of missing curb, gutter, sidewalks, drive approaches, handicap ramps, drainage cross -gutters, and match -up ac pavement in two census tract project areas. The area to be improved in Census Tract 66 is bounded by "C Street, 1-10 Freeway, County pocket, and Pennsylvania Avenue. The area to be improved in Census Tract 70 is bounded by Laurel Avenue, Mt. Vernon Avenue, "C Street, and Bordwell Avenue.
