Fiscal Year 2003-2004 <br />Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program <br />Project Proposal Applications <br />1. City of Colton -City Manager's Office (Historic Preservation Officer), <br />"Historic Resources Preservation Grant Program," $105,000: <br />Proposal to establish a maximum $10,000 grant program for property <br />owners (owner occupied) of residential homes that have been <br />designated as a historic resource and are listed on the City Historic <br />Landmark Register. CDBG funds will be used for rehabilitation, <br />restoration, replacement of principal fixtures, and for labor, materials, <br />and other costs of rehabilitation of historically designated residential <br />houses. <br />2. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation, & Family Services Department, <br />"Cooley Ranch Elementary School Replacement of Child Care <br />Modular Unit," $150,000: The Community Child Care Division is <br />requesting CDBG funds to acquire a 2,160 square foot modular unit to <br />replace the existing child care modular unit located at Cooley Ranch <br />Elementary School. The new facility would contain restroom facilities, <br />be able to accommodate more children, and would be used for the <br />child care latchkey program. <br />3. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation, & Family Services Department, <br />"South Colton Mini Parks Project", $20,000: Refurbish and improve <br />two small parks along the north side of "N" Street on either side of the <br />railroad tracks. <br />4. City of Colton -Parks, Recreation, & Family Services Department, <br />"Veterans Park Rehabilitation Improvements," $20,000: <br />Restoration of two picnic shelters located at Veterans Park and <br />renovation of the landscaping and irrigation system located in front of <br />the Pete Luque Community Center. <br />5. City of Colton -Engineering Department, "Census Tracts 66 & 70 <br />Sidewalks, Curbs, and other Improvements Project, " $393,800: <br />The project would include the installation of missing curb, gutter, <br />sidewalks, drive approaches, handicap ramps, drainage cross -gutters, <br />and match -up ac pavement in two census tract project areas. The area <br />to be improved in Census Tract 66 is bounded by "C Street, 1-10 <br />Freeway, County pocket, and Pennsylvania Avenue. The area to be <br />improved in Census Tract 70 is bounded by Laurel Avenue, Mt. Vernon <br />Avenue, "C Street, and Bordwell Avenue. <br />
