City of Colton
AGENDA REPORT (continued)
For Council Meeting of December 3, 2002
Subject: JON -LIN ELECTRIC SERVICE AGREEMENT
their consumption pattern. The Electric Utility has been in negotiations with Jon -Lin for over a
year. A compromise was reached to have the effective date of the contract service as May 15,
2002. The Department had made a commitment to have the rate in effect during their summer
usage. This will result in a refund to Jon -Lin for that period. This amount by itself is not
significant enough to affect the revenue requirement for the remaining customers in the industrial
class or other classes. In addition, the Electric Utility is experiencing other load growth that
makes up for the revenue loss of the contract without increasing expenditures.
The financial condition of the Electric Division is such that this agreement will not adversely
impact the operating stability of the Division.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
None
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Colton City Council approve the Electric Service Agreement between
the City and Jon -Lin, Inc.
EREVIEWEAM ONLY
y: Finance Director:er: /Q.THER:
