In that capacity we are in receipt
of your claim for water damages at your business.
We have now completed our investigation into your claim by receiving and reviewing
the departmental report. We are advised that on May 22 you called the City Water
Department indicating you had a leak at the water meter. Your water meter was changed,
and during the change, some rust particles lodged in your backflow device causing it to
leak. The City's backflow technician was called out and the device was cleared of all
debris. It was then noted you experienced a water leak on your floor. This was also
checked out by the City and you were advised it appeared to be a problem in your
drainage system because it was coming up into your drains and you needed to employ a
plumber. The City's Wastewater Department also went the extra effort to check the
City's sewer mains in the area where the crew found everything flowing normally. It
appears your problems may be in your lateral lines which is not a City responsibility. We
believe the City has responded to your problems very timely and have also made every
effort to resolve a problem which has been determined is not within the City's
responsibility.
We have recommended denial of your claim and the City will be sending you formal
notice soon.
CARL WARREN & CO.
An Employee -Owned Company
CLAIMS MANAGEMENT - CLAIMS ADJUSTERS
P.O.
