w-
April 11, 2002
Mr. Gabriel M. Logan
571 East James Street
Rialto, California 92376
RE: Principal: City of Colton
Incident: 9/21/00
Our File: 28212SA
Dear Mr. Logan:
We are the claim administrators for the City of Colton. In that capacity we have
investigated your claim for the towing and impounding of your vehicle without notice.
A review of the Police Department's report indicates your vehicle was parked with a
registration expiration date in excess of six months. Your vehicle had a PNO, however it
was parked on a public roadway in violation of the PNO. The Police Department was
acting in accordance with the California Vehicle Code in their actions of towing and
impounding your vehicle.
In addition, there are certain circumstances in which a public entity must accept an
Application for Leave to present a late claim, none of which have been included with
your explanation. '
Based on our investigation, we are recommending the City of Colton deny your
Application for Leave to present a late claim and deny your claim in its entirety.
Should you have any questions concerning the above, please give me a call.
Very truly yours,
RL WARREN & COMPANY
Sandra Alford
SA:ib
Cc: City of Colton, Ms. Joanne Knowles
CARL WARREN & CO.
CLAIMS MANAGEMENT • CLAIMS ADJUSTERS
P.O.
