March 7, 2003
Mr. Gilberto Salvador/Ana Su
425 West "J" Street
Colton, California 92324
RE: Principal:
City of Colton
Claimant:
Gilberto Salvador/Ana Su
Incident:
2/13/03
Our File:
30426SA
Dear Mr. Su:
We are the claim administrators for the City of Colton. In that capacity we are in receipt
of your claim for damages caused an extreme storm which went through the area in mid-
February.
We have now completed our investigation into your claim by receiving and reviewing
the departmental report. The area near your home which was flooded by the rainstorm
had been under watch by the City of Colton er9ployees to help avoid any flooding
problems. They continually checked the storm drains to make sure all was clear.
Unfortunately the storm intensified and City crews were unable to prevent the flooding of
the streets which occurred. This rainstorm and the flooding which you experienced was
an Act of God and not because the City did not perform their jobs. Once the flooding did
occur, City employees did assist in removing the storm water from the area.
With the above in mind, we have recommended denial of your claim. The City will be
taking the above into consideration and will advise you in writing of their decision. We
would suggest you turn this matter over to your homeowner's insurance carrier.
Please feel free to contact our office should you have any questions.
Very truly yours,
CA WARREN & COMPANY
C4s/a &-
Sandra Alford
SA:ib
CARL WARREN & CO.
An Employee -Owned Company
,CLAIMS MANAGEMENT • CLAIMS ADJUSTERS
P.O.
