La Cadena Drive
Colton, CA 92324
Dear l
I n
`t = h
Ji
Our records indicate that the City of Colton is in jeopardy of losing Transportation Development
Act, Article 3 funding for the projects specified below:
The Cooley Ranch Bike Lane which consists of 32,640 feet of Class II bikeways at various
locations as outlined in the project application in the amount of $38.100 awarded in December
1995; the Mill Street Pedestrian Sidewalk and Accessibility Ramps in the amount of $39,840
awarded in July 2001, and Article 3 Curb -Cut set -a -side funds in the amount of $6,250.
Article 3 funding awards to specific projects have a two year life span as set by Board policy. In
addition to project specific ai yards, the Board in Fiscal Year 1993 authored the seta -sale of
20% of Article 3 funds annually, to be apportioned equally to each city and the county to be used
to install cub -cuts on existing sidewalks. In a subsequent Board action, the use of this set -a -side
was expanded to include certain improvements for public access to transit, it allowed for any
remaining balance to be available until June 30, 2002. Further, the Board approved the
recommendation that any balances remaining unclaimed after the project due date would be
returned as unrestricted to the Article 3 fund. Attached are prior communications with your city
regarding these projects.
All funds awarded to any project and not under contract or claimed by June 30, 2003, will be
returned to the Article 3 fund balance for use else where.
SANBAG recently sent the appropriate claim forms for your Mill Street project, however, those
forms have not been returned. Please contact Victoria Baker or Mike Bair at (909) 884-8276
immediately to advise on the status of these projects.
Sincerely, i
Norman R.
