REPORT/RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS <br />OF SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />AND RECORD OF ACTION <br />July 20, 2004 <br />FROM: NORMAN A. KANOLD, Assistant County Administrator <br />Economic Development/Public Services Group <br />SUBJECT: LAFCO NO. 2958 --CITY OF COLTON REORGANIZATION TO INCLUDE SOUTH <br />ANNEXATION NO. S-50 (SUBAREAS NOS. 1-4) <br />RECOMMENDATION: Adopt resolution determining the following as the property tax revenue <br />amounts to be transferred as a result of pending annexation related to LAFCO No. 2958 (City of <br />Colton reorganization to include South Annexation No. S-50, Subareas Nos. 1-4): <br />Agency Transfer To <br />City of Colton $10,546 <br />County General Fund $375 <br />CSA 70 — Fire <br />CSA 38 General - Fire <br />County Free Library <br />Transfer From <br />$1,806 <br />$8,142 <br />$973 <br />BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) No. 2958 <br />pertains to a reorganization involving annexation of four island areas that comprise a total of <br />approximately 107 acres, which would be annexed by the City of Colton. These unincorporated <br />areas are located as follows: <br />Island 1 (identified as Subarea No. 1) comprises 10.7+/- acres and is generally bordered on the <br />north by parcel boundaries (existing City of Colton), on the east by Bostick Avenue (existing City <br />of Colton boundary), on the south by the natural extension of Litton Avenue (existing City of <br />Colton boundary), and on the west by parcel boundaries (existing City of Colton). <br />Island 2 (identified as Subarea No. 2) comprises 36.5+/- acres and is generally bordered on the <br />east by Rosedale Avenue and on the south, west, and north by parcel boundaries (existing City of <br />Colton). <br />Island 3 (identified as Subarea No. 3) comprises 24.2 +/- acres and is generally bordered on the <br />north by Palm Avenue (existing City of Grand Terrace); on the east by parcel boundaries <br />generally west of the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad lines (existing City of Colton <br />boundary); on the south by parcel boundaries (existing City of Colton); and on the west by a <br />combination of Rosedale Avenue and La Cadena Drive (existing City of Colton boundary). <br />Island 4 (identified as Subarea No. 4) comprises 35.2+/- acres and is generally bordered on the <br />east by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad lines (existing City of Grand Terrace <br />boundary); on the south by parcel boundaries (existing City of Grand Terrace); and on the west <br />and north by parcel boundaries (existing City of Colton).
