OPERATION TROUPE <br />P.O. Box 2098 <br />COLTON, CALIFORNIA 92324 <br />(909) 514-1816 OFFICE <br />(909) 514-1816 FAX <br />The primary purpose of this corporation is to provide a wide spectrum of service(s), including <br />but not limited to employment training, educational / tutoring services, as well as drugs and <br />alcohol awareness program(s), to benefit low to moderate -income persons. <br />(A) Employment Training Services: Training in the areas of social skills, completing <br />resrrrnef applications appropriately for employment purposes. Preparing for job <br />interviews, which may consist of a mock interview with staff, to determine the area(s) of <br />strengths and weaknesses. Operation Troupe- will also- provide- workshops for example: Dress <br />for Success on a budget. Additionally, providing individuals with information on current job <br />openings. <br />(B) Educational Services: Assisting individuals with obtaining a high school diploma or <br />a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), in addition to pursuing a college degree Serving at <br />risk minorslyoung adults with learning disabilities. Operation Troupe will refer individuals to <br />the appropriate schools, to assist in the areas of reading, writing, math and language arts. <br />Operation Troupe plans to work with local vocational programs and community colleges such <br />as San Bernardino, Valley College, San Bernardino Adult School, Upward Bound, and EOPS <br />programs to assist with reaching these goals. <br />(C) Educational and Awareness programs on Drug Abuse: Substance Abuse education <br />will serve to teach at risk -minors, young adults in the area on chemical dependency effects, and <br />mood altering drugs. For example: drug use causes physical and emotional dependence, which <br />interferes with memory, sensation and perception and in some eases, may cause permanent <br />brain damage or sudden death. <br />The needs in the community are certainly there; Based on the information obtained from the <br />individual within the community, we have been informed that low to moderate income families <br />who are not receiving public assistance are at greater risk of becoming unemployed or dropping <br />out of school. The lack of information and services is one of the reasons why poverty increases <br />within the community. One of Operation Troupe's goal plan is to provide individuals with the <br />information needed to reach his/her goals, as well as lending a helping hand in decreasing <br />poverty within our community. <br />Operation Troupe is in the process of working with Housing Authority of the County of San <br />Bernardino, Public Housing Division. Operation Troupe will set up offices at different site(s), <br />Monday thru Thursday, for four (4) hours a day to provide the services listed above. While <br />working with the residents at the sites we will be able to assist in the following communities: <br />Colton, Bloomington, Rialto, Loma Linda, Redlands, Highland and San Bernardino. By getting <br />involved within the area(s) listed we will be able to work hand and hand with the different <br />organizations that provide similar programs/services. This will allow Operation Troupe to <br />provide services based on each community needs. <br />
