RAMOS, CMC <br />City Clerk <br />City of Colton <br />Approved this 21st day of July, 1981. <br />ADJOURNED COUNCIL MEETING <br />JULY 13, 1981 <br />In accordance with notice duly and legally given, an Adjourned Regular Meeting of <br />the City Council of the City of Colton was held on the above date at 6:00 p. m., <br />in the Council Chambers of City Hall, Mayor Gonzales presiding. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Council members present were Hayes, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor Gonzales. <br />Also present were City Manager Trevino, City Attorney Edwards, City Clerk Ramos, <br />and Finance Assistant Young. <br />BIDS <br />Police <br />City Manager Trevino reported on a request for authorization to call for bids on <br />four detective units submitted by Chief of Police Elliott. <br />Mr. Trevino stated Chief Elliott has submitted a justified recommendation for pur- <br />chase of four used automobiles prior to the first part of August, 1981, as this is <br />the date on which the currently leased 1976 cars must be turned into L. J. Snow Ford. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to authorize the Pur- <br />chasing Agent to go to bid with the specifications prepared by the Chief of Police. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />BUDGET <br />F i re <br />City Manager Trevino reported he and the Assistant Finance Director, Mr. Young, <br />reviewed the Fire Budget with Fire Chief Teague and Chief Teague is in general <br />agreement with the recommendations. <br />Chief Teague addressed the City Council saying he believed the Fire Budget was <br />very realistic and that the major request is that of contract with the San Ber- <br />nardino County Communications Center for receiving and dispatching fire and para- <br />medic equipment. Chief Teague said the cost is estimated at $20,000 per year as <br />compared to a $70,000 cost for manning our own Alarm Office. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to tentatively approve <br />the Fire Budget as recommended by Staff. Unanimous vote. <br />Building & Safety <br />City Manager Trevino reported he and the Assistant Finance Director, Mr. Young, re- <br />viewed the Building & Safety Budget with Mr. Twiss and Mr Twiss is in general agree- <br />ment with the recommendations. <br />Mr. Twiss stated what increases are in the budget are due to inflation. <br />AL 13 1981 <br />
