Councilwoman Garcia asked if funds are not available, is the City committed to pay9 3 <br />this amount in Hard Match. <br />Mayor Gonzales stated there is no committment at this point. <br />Councilwoman Garcia asked Miss Aponte that, if the City determines there are no <br />funds available for this, what would happen. <br />Miss Aponte stated that it would effect their second year grant. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to refer to Staff for re- <br />view and report the request from Los Padrinos of Southern California, Inc., for <br />amount of $878.33 from the City of Colton. Unanimous vote. <br />Recreation <br />Ken Hubbs Memorial Little League <br />City Manager Trevino read a letter from the Ken Hubbs Memorial Little League request- <br />ing the City Council's consideration and approval of an amount of $105., payment for <br />transportation and use of a school bus, in connection with their baseball activities. <br />Moved by Mayor Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to refer this request to Staff <br />for study and report. Unanimous vote. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Budget <br />Res. No. 4142 <br />Q <br />Q City Manager Trevino reported that due to delays from the County with regard to <br />required figures and material, it is necessary to postpone adoption of the 1981- <br />82 budget for an adjourned meeting, to be determined by the City Council. Mr. <br />Trevino recommended consideration and approval of Resolution No. 4142, establish- <br />ing the tax rate for the City. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to approve Resolution <br />No. 4142. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 4142 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON FIX- <br />ING AND ESTABLISHING THE TAX RATE FOR THE BONDED INDEBTED- <br />NESS OF THE CITY OF COLTON FOR THE 1981-82 FISCAL YEAR. <br />Civic Center <br />Mr. Trevino reviewed his memorandum regarding proposed expansion of the parking <br />facilities at City Hall, outlining two plans for consideration costing $11,700 <br />and $11,500. Mr. Trevino stated this work would be put out to bid, as the City <br />crews would not be able to do the work. <br />Mr. Trevino concluded that Staff recommends approval of Plan B, $11,500, with a <br />double wide driveway off of V' Street, loss of one tree, and no drive through <br />lane. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to approve Staff's <br />recommendation with regard to proposed expansion of parking facilities at City <br />Hall, and go out to bid for the proposed project. Unanimous vote. <br />Federally Funded Projects <br />Existing Library <br />Mr. Trevino read his memorandum dated August 12, 1981, and referred to a memorandum <br />from David Zamora, Administrative Assistant RDA, and Jennifer Thornberry, Planning <br />Technician RDA, concerning the possibility of obtaining grant funds from the County <br />amounting to approximately $70,000 for the purpose of historical preservation of <br />the City's existing Library building. <br />Mr. Trevino stated should the proposed library become a reality, it would be Staff's <br />intent to place the existing Library on both the California and National Register <br />of Historical Places, and then make application for the grant funds to commence with <br />the restoration of the existing Library. Mr. Trevino concluded that Staff will also <br />be seeking additional funds that may be available through private foundation funding <br />to be used in collaboration with grant monies. <br />On Council consensus, Staff's report was accepted. <br />AUG 18 1981 <br />
