<br />Historical Library Site
<br />City Manager Trevino read in full his report with regard to historical preservation
<br />of the present Library structure to provide a cultural center and maintain the exist-
<br />ing Library as a historical monument for the future generations of Colton. Mr.
<br />Trevino said in order to accomplish this, the City will apply for grant funds, under
<br />the Parklands Act of 1980, allocated through the County, with Colton's per capita
<br />share being approximately $69,658.
<br />Mr. Trevino advised that after the funds are obtained, Staff will be seeking a person
<br />with the extensive experience and knowledge required to perform the specialized
<br />work of retoring the Library building. Mr. Trevino concluded that if the Council
<br />concurs, Staff would recommend adoption of Resolution No. 4161.
<br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to approve Resolution
<br />No. 4161. Unanimous vote.

<br />General Plan
<br />City Manager Trevino advised that area meetings to discuss the General Plan have been
<br />scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 1981, Hutton Center, 7:00 p.m.; Thursday, Decem-
<br />ber 3, 1981, Paul Rogers School, 5:00 p.m.; and Friday, December 4, 1981, Luque Center,
<br />7:00 p.m., as directed by the City Council.
<br />Mr. Trevino stated if the City Council wishes to review the General Plan at the
<br />meeting scheduled for January 19, 1982, as previously ordered, no further action
<br />is necessary at this time, however, in view of the dates scheduled for the area
<br />meetings, the City Council may wish to review the General Plan at an earlier date,
<br />and, if so, Staff will need appropriate direction in order that the proper public
<br />notice be given.
<br />After additional discussion, moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Mayor Gonzales.
<br />to set for Public Hearing on Tuesday, December 15, 1981, consideration of the General
<br />Plan for the City of Colton. Unanimous vote.
